And then on top of that Fi happily gave away the very thing that would condemn her. It was even more contrived that the necklace went unnoticed by Doc and her friends… Yet that Remo guy saw it straight away. Her conveniently making a necklace out of the poisoned sand from the arena she fought in to become Doc's wife was ridiculously contrived. But in the last couple of books their romance turned stale. They used to be great - they had chemistry, great banter, and loads of tension. Mal and Chrysabelle's relationship was so blah. I was really disappointed that he didn't actually do anything murderous or unforgivable when he was evul - I would have liked some full on EvulMal drama. Sadly, when he turned back to his normal self he was really dull, all he did was obsess over his pwecious Chrysabelle. I quite liked Mal when he was being all evul and thinking nasty thoughts. She didn't say or do anything remotely interesting. I used to like her but she turned into a full blown, run of the mill, dull Mary Sue. Everything was just so predictable and cheesy - nothing exciting or surprising happened. I kind of enjoyed Last Blood, but that might have been down to me getting to finish off a series rather than the actual book itself.
